Gardening Matters builds the local food movement by supporting and inspiring individuals and families to grow their own food and build resilient communities where neighbors grow, share, eat and preserve their own food.
We are dedicated to the success and sustainability of community gardens and breaking down real and perceived barriers so everyone can grow their own food.
We’ve been at it since 2008, providing resources and learning opportunities for growers and working for land access and other policies supportive of urban agriculture. There were about 200 community gardens in the Metro Area back then, now there are nearly 608 in the metro and 728 across the state! You have known and loved us as your go-to organization for all things community gardening-related and we are honored to serve you.
We need your help now more than ever. Your contribution will help us support you and the growing community of urban gardeners as we build the world we seek to live in. We can’t do it without you.
