Community Garden Spring Resource Fair 2012

Community Garden Day 2012

What: MN Community gardens host regional tours of area community gardens and invite the public to celebrate!

Cost: Free to participate as a garden, and free to visit gardens

Saturday, August 11, 2012 is Community Garden Day in Minnesota and community gardens in regions throughout the Twin Cities Metro and Greater MN will be hosting tours for the public in celebration! Community Garden Day is an opportunity to recognize the thousands of volunteer hours that community members put in each year to make these community green spaces possible. It's also a way to learn directly from community gardeners about these community spaces, and to get to know your neighborhood or city a little better in the process.

Interested in hosting a community garden tour in collaboration with other community gardens in your area? Connect with Gardening Matters to get the ball rolling! We’ll help connect you with other gardens in your region, coordinate a regional sponsor, and assist in event planning and communications for the tour.

Deadline for community garden sign-up to host a tour on Community Garden Day is May 1, 2012. A representative from your garden must be available to attended one planning meeting per month from May-August.
