... and that means end-of-season skillshares, Nourish Film Series and the Garden Coordinator Brown Bag Lunch!
Things to look out for:
Throughout the fall and winter of 2016 we will continue to organize skillshares that prepare us for winter with possibilities including: putting the garden to bed, body care products, herbal teas and remedies, food preservation, winterizing your chickens.
Nourish Film Series
Last winter, Gardening Matters and Hope Community co-hosted a series of evening film screenings. Community gathered around a farm or food-focused film, shared a meal, and engaged in lively conversation. We plan to partner with Hope Community and the Land Stewardship Project this coming winter, and are working to expand the series to other locations, Metro-wide. Keep your eyes open for the first screening in December!
Garden Coordinator Brown Bag Lunch
Beginning in November, we will once again convene a monthly brown bag lunch for community garden coordinators. This is an open space gathering. There is no pre-planned agenda -- instead coordinators will bring topics to the group, allowing for multiple conversations. Last year we spoke about project timelines, community engagement, collective leadership, organizational collaboration, and more. Bring your own lunch. We hope to meet at central locations where there are options to purchase food. Find the lunch schedule here.
For of these gatherings and more, make sure to keep your eye on COMGAR, our e-newsletter, social media and website. We will post updates as details fall into place!
