Funding for new or expanding community gardens for 2011 season
Gardening Matters and the Dakota County Public Health Department are pleased to announce that funding is now available to establish new or expand existing community gardens in Dakota County.
These gardens are growing fresh, healthy produce and increasing access to fruits and vegetablers to those who have less access (i.e., low income, etc.)
This funding is provided by the Dakota County Public Health Department (DCPHD) through the State Health Improvement Program (SHIP) funded by the Minnesota Department of Health to establish sustainable community gardens for the purpose of decreasing the incidence and severity of chronic disease attributed to poor nutrition and lack of exercise.
